How to Cancel Your Ride
If you have made a reservation but no longer need a ride, please let our team at Souris Basin Transportation know at least two hours before pickup or you will be charged a no-show fare amount. This will be paid for on your next trip. No-show fees will be twice the regular fare (Minot routes only). Proper cancellation is important for all trips. We would like to know that all whom we have transported are returning home safely.
If a rider is not ready within the time limits (up to five minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time), he/she will be counted as a no-show and the rider will be charged the full fare amount.
Souris Basin Transportation Cancellation / No Show Policy
1. No-Show & Cancellation Policy
- Ride Cancellation: Rides must be canceled at 2 hours before the scheduled pick-up time. Failure to do so results in a "No Show."
- No Show Conditions:
- The customer has a scheduled paratransit trip.
- The vehicle arrives within the 30-minute pick-up window.
- The driver waits for 5 minutes, and the customer fails to board.
- Late cancellations (less than 2 hours before the pick-up) are also considered "No Shows."
- All riders must watch for the buses. We can not call everyone or knock on the door. We are not allowed to enter private residence.
- Penalties:
- First Occurrence: Warning letter.
- Second Occurrence: 7-day suspension.
- Third Occurrence: 14-day suspension, and subscription trips are canceled.
- Fourth Occurrence: 21-day suspension.
Any violations after the first warning letter, within the same 30 days, may result in extended suspensions.
Any additional violations after the first warning letter, within the same 30 days, may result in a 7 day suspension.
Please note: Any additional violations occurring after the warning letter and within the same 30 days proceeding first warning letter, will result in suspension.
- Exceptions for No Shows:
- Family emergencies, mobility aid failures, adverse weather, or administrative/staffing errors.
- Additional information presented to the Administrative office for review.
- Non-Excusable No Shows:
- Customer changes mind, forgets, or does not want to ride.
- Excuses may be subject to clarification submitted to the SBT Administration office for review..
We are losing the ability to give rides to 900 people per month that have called in for a reservation. The cancelled rides and no shows prevent others who need a ride from getting a seat. There will be no payment for a no show or cancellation to clear a violation. It will be documented and add to your record for violations and penalties. Sorry for the inconvenience .
